I hired Morgan from Mayapple to renovate a yard at a multi-unit property. The yard was dreadful and mostly weeds. Since this is a tenant occupied property, I had three goals in mind: one - low maintenance; two - create a space to be enjoyable for the tenants, and three- reduce concerns about water since the yard is very flat and flanked by two other properties. When I met Morgan he introduced the idea of using native plants to revitalize gardens in the Lancaster area. I learned that native plants are very low maintenance since they are intended to grow in the local climate. Caring about the environment and the effects of inappropriate vegetation, I found this idea to be brilliant. It was clear that Morgan really understood the science behind his work. He also had vision quickly for the project based on my description. The end project is amazing! I am so excited to see everything bloom in the Spring/Summer/Fall next year. He designed an excellent patio using pavers I already had - great use of existing resources and my budget! He re-homed some trees that weren't great for this year - that made me super happy since they didn't go to the landfill. As for the water concern - he created a great rock feature that sort of acts as a drainage run and it's super attractive! Job well done. I highly recommend Mayapple to anyone who wants to do better for their environment and for those who may not have the clearest vision of how to accomplish their projects.
